This process involves impregnating reinforcing fibers with a liquid resin drawn in under vacuum. <\/p>\n\n<p>Infusion is notably used in the manufacture of:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>wind turbine blades<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>boat hulls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>industrial composite structures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This technique allows for the production of composite parts with high structural quality.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Volatile organic compound emissions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>During infusion, certain resins can release <strong>volatile organic compounds (VOCs)<\/strong>. These emissions can occur during: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>fiber impregnation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>resin polymerization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>part demolding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Emissions can be more significant when composite parts are large.
