It embodies a brand new &#8216;from field to glass&#8217; supply chain project. Its management team called upon OBERA to implement dust reduction measures during <a href=\"https:\/\/obera.fr\/en\/food-industry\/purificateur-agroalimentaire\/\">barley handling<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indeed, the finished product packaging workshop, particularly with a <strong>degerminator and a bagging machine, generates a significant amount of barley dust<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These installations operate intermittently (10-ton batches every 2\/3 days), with the degerminator processing 2 to 4 t\/h and sending the finished product into storage bins before bagging by the bagging machine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are effective solutions for barley dust treatment?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>We have installed an <strong>OBNEX 160 HM dust collector<\/strong> that meets these requirements and more, as we have 5 capture points: 2 on the degerminator and 3 on the packaging section.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The manager&#8217;s words, once the solution was implemented<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Regarding dust collection, we noticed a clear improvement in the packaged product and especially in the dust emission in the room&#8217;s atmosphere.&#8221; <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p>The dust collection unit, installed in one day, with 5 capture points between the bagging machine and the degerminator, <strong>drastically reduces the respiratory risks<\/strong> posed by fine barley dust, <strong>thereby limiting its concentration in the ambient air<\/strong>, and thus the health risks for all ART MALT BIO employees.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is there an explosion risk?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Cereal dust, due to its fineness, is combustible and explosive, so there is a real risk of explosion.
