As a screen printing specialist, you’re well aware that the handling of materials, the composition of inks and the printing process generate pollutants in the workshop. To keep your teams safe, there’s one solution: the screen printing vacuum table for professionals.

Screen printing and air treatment: eliminate pollutants in the workshop with a solution tailored to your specific requirements

Although screen printing is reputed to generate fewer pollutants than other printing techniques, it is still concerned byVOC emissions. These volatile organic compounds are the cause of numerous health problems for workers: irritation of the respiratory tract, aggravation of asthma symptoms, skin allergies, etc. These chemical substances are mainly emitted by :
- The use of printing inks. Although there are water-based inks, solvent-based inks are still widely used. These solvents evaporate into the air during the drying process;
- Les nettoyants et les solvants utilisés pour nettoyer les écrans et les outils ;
- Screen printing screens and adhesives, which naturally generate VOCs during handling or start-up (under the effect of heat).
To reduce workers’ exposure to pollutants contained in inks and chemicals, it is essential to treat the air in the workshop.
” The first solution is to vacuum VOCs at source, with an industrial vacuum table located at each screen-printing station. Other equipment, such as an air purifier, can be added to sanitize the entire workshop. ” adds Thibaut Samsel, OberA’s Technical Manager.
Screen printing: what’s the difference between an industrial vacuum table and a printing machine (vacuum plate table)?

Screen-printing workshops have an indispensable piece of equipment: the printing machine equipped with panels (e.g. aluminum honeycomb panels) and a motor to provide a vacuum function. The vacuum cleaner is located under the suction table to create an air vacuum beneath the table surface. Whether the printing machine is manual or automatic, it never treats the air on the work surface. It enables flat screen printing by holding the substrate firmly in place to guarantee transfer of the design from the stencil to the printing substrate.
Industrial vacuum tables are equipment designed to ensure the safety of operators exposed to pollutants emitted by production (and therefore printing) processes. When handling parts made of textiles, cardboard, paper, aluminum, ceramics or wood, it is essential to extract pollutants at source. Dust (coarse and fine), odors and solvents, gases… the suction table captures and treats pollutants by passing them through a filtration system. This filtration system can be integrated into the table, or attached to it (connected to an extraction solution) to eliminate any risk of pollutants being released into the air.

OberA suction tables for screen-printing workshops
We offer several ranges of industrial vacuum tables, all of which are effective in capturing and treating coarse and fine dust and VOCs.
The choice of the most optimal vacuum table for your workshop will depend above all on the parts to be printed (posters, packaging, textiles, objects, glasses, mirrors, cups, toys, dishes, etc.), your space constraints and the density of pollutants present on your workstations.
About the OberA :
- Our A & AT industrial vacuum tables: available in a range of sizes to adapt to the size of the parts to be printed. This product is ideal for workshops that generate high levels of pollutants, since it can be connected to a dust collector or fan for maximum suction and enhanced safety.
- Our ePURBOX TSP suction table integrated into a suction box. A compact model with a small footprint, offering excellent treatment performance thanks to its 3 filter levels (pre-filter, particulate filter and activated carbon filter). This product is ideal for screen-printing small parts.
- Our self-contained vacuum tables are ideal for high-volume production. They are equipped with an automatic filter cleaning system to save time, and offer a spacious work surface.
- Our rotary extraction table for complex workpieces requiring great freedom of movement.
