Discover our range of DUSTOMAT HYDRO wet process dust collectors, combining performance and efficiency for the extraction of highly flammable substances.
DUSTOMAT HYDRO industrial dust collector: how does it work and how to use it?

The main strength of the DUSTOMAT HYDRO series lies in its innovative multi-level separation technology for capturing dust and sparks. The polluted air is extracted by a fan integrated into the dust collector. Air velocity is reduced, allowing heavy particles to fall into a collection tray: this is the first stage of particle pre-separation. The air then passes through a hydrocyclone, which uses centrifugal force to separate the fine particles from the water. These particles are trapped in water and the sparks are cooled to render them harmless. A final filtration stage captures the last of the fine particles, leaving the air clean. This filtration technology guarantees high separation efficiency of up to 99.995%.
For what uses? DUSTOMAT HYDRO series wet separators are designed for the extraction of highly flammable substances or in work processes with sparks. They are suitable for single- or multi-station extraction systems for metal dust, e.g. during grinding, brushing and polishing. The DUSTOMAT HYDRO also complies with the ATEX standard for safe and efficient use in explosive environments. In fact, these stationary wet dust collectors are very popular in themetal, chemical and foodindustries, as well as in the wood and craft industries.
Features of DUSTOMAT HYDRO wet dust collectors
The DUSTOMAT HYDRO series includes 4 models of wet dust collectors with capacities ranging from 2,300 to 10,000 m3/h. They all offer a wide range of applications for the extraction of metal chips, welding fumes, aluminum, steel and titanium dusts, the extraction of explosive materials ( ATEX-compliant, optional) and spark-generating metal dusts. This versatility makes this series particularly effective at extracting particles generated by sanding, polishing, sawing, milling and welding processes.
In addition, the DUSTOMAT HYDRO is a dust collector that can be truly adapted to industrial needs. In addition to ATEX compliance, it can be fitted with a special paint finish and a variable suction nozzle position. You also have a choice of filter media (HEPA H 14 filter for carcinogenic particles, for example). In addition industrial dust collectors of this series feature two power levels, a configurable filtration system (up to 4 filtration levels) and sensors that automatically regulate water filling.
Another feature of the DUSTOMAT HYDRO series is low maintenance costs, since the fine particle filtration system is located downstream.
Innovative DUSTOMAT HYDRO technology: the hydrocyclone-based separation system makes sparks and combustible dusts almost totally harmless, right from the first level of filtration (98.7% separation rate). Even the smallest particle fractions of ≥ 15 µm are safely bound in the water turbulence chamber, enabling OberA to take pre-separation quality to the next level. Users benefit from a significant effect: the filter media of the subsequent dry separation system are spared, resulting in longer service life and lower subsequent costs.
