Help with the purchase of a CO2 sensor

For the start of the 2022 school year, a new sanitary protocol is in force.Ventilation is still one of the most effective ways of combating the spread of the virus. Local authorities opting for a CO2 sensor can now benefit from financial assistance provided by the French government.
Following an opinion dated April 28, the French High Council for Public Health recommended the use of CO2 sensors to determine how often and for how long it is necessary to ventilate a room. The French Ministry of Education has also invited local authorities to carry out CO2 measurement campaigns using the sensors.
TheAssociation des Petites Villes de France (French Association of Small Towns ) carried out a study in September 2021, highlighting the need for financial support for small towns. So, to encourage small towns to acquire CO2 sensors, the French government has decided to provide financial support.
WHO NEEDS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?
Local authorities :
All local authorities and Établissement Public de Coopération Intercommunale (EPCI) affiliated with public schools or local public educational establishments under the authority of the French Ministry of Education, who submit an application for financial assistance.
Each municipality wishing to purchase CO2 sensors for its schools is eligible for a grant of €8 per pupil enrolled in public schools.
DEADLINE FOR SUBSIDY CO2 sensor
Only purchases of CO2 sensors invoiced from April 28, 2021 to December 31, 2022 are eligible for subsidy. The deadline for applications has been extended to December 31, 2022.
HOW TO ACQUIRE THIS GRANT?
Local authorities and all public bodies must submit a grant application to the departmental government together with the following supporting documents:
- Grant application form, to be completed by the local authority or EPCI (Etablissement Public de Partenariat Intercommunal). The form must include all zip codes of schools affiliated to the local authority or EPCI.
- An invoice with a post-date to April 28, 2021, the number of CO2 collectors purchased and the purchase price including VAT.
- A certificate stating the number of sensors delivered since April 28, 2021 and the name of the school that received the CO2 sensor(s).
How is my grant calculated?
Financial assistance is equal to the lowest of the following 3 ceilings:
A lump sum of €8 per pupil is set according to the number of pupils from public schools or Établissement Public Local d’Enseignement (EPLE) under the authority of the French Ministry of Education, located on the territory of the local authority (data for the 2020-2021 school year).
A lump-sum payment of 50 euros per sensors purchased and delivered to a public school or EPLE.
The actual acquisition cost, including VAT, of these sensors by the local authority.
Example of an aid calculation :
For a local authority with 92 pupils. The community opts for the purchase of a CO2 sensor at 200€.
92 students x €2= €176
1 sensor x €50 per sensor = €50
1 sensor x €200= €200
The State will therefore offer financial assistance of €50 to this community of 92 students.
