What is a HEPA filter?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. This is a filter medium certified by a European standard. It removes at least 99.9% of pollutant particles from ambient air.
The HEPA filter features a set of alternating fibers:
- Glass ;
- From cellulose ;
- Synthetic fibers.
This gives it a filtration capacity of around 0.1 microns. This order of magnitude corresponds to the size of viruses. This is why this type of filter media is capable of sanitizing a room of any viral pathogen. There are several HEPA filtration solutions:
